But Tong Sui in front of him made it impossible for him to just sit still.
Chi Xingyu supported himself on his hands and leaned closer, “Let me help you massage.”
“No need.”
Tong Sui shut his eyes and pulled the quilt up to cover his head, leaving only a few strands of hair poking out. His resistance was quite evident.
Chi Xingyu, however, felt no annoyance at all; instead, he simply lay down next to him, pressing against his back. “Kid.”
Tong Sui remained silent.
Chi Xingyu tried again, “Kid Bao.”
The person under the quilt stirred but still did not respond.
Chi Xingyu continued, “Sui Bao, it’s freezing outside. I’ve given you the quilt, and I’m about to freeze to death. What should I do?”
Just when he thought Tong Sui really wouldn’t pay him any mind, a voice full of playful complaint drifted out from under the quilt, “You’re so annoying.”
Then he felt a warmth enveloping him, accompanied by a unique fragrance.
Tong Sui said, “This should be enough.”
He shared half of the quilt with Chi Xingyu, which was already his biggest concession.
Chi Xingyu instantly realized he had softened, and he took his hand with the momentum, gently rubbing his wrist, like he was trying to curry favor.
Tong Sui grunted, “I don’t need you to do that. You’re too strong.”
“Then I’ll be gentler.” Chi Xingyu eased his grip, his fingertips grazing the thin calluses on the back of Tong Sui’s hand as they brushed against his soft wrist skin.
Inside the narrow, enclosed tent, the two were covered by the same quilt, while another quilt lay abandoned in the corner.
Unlike Chi Xingyu, who could stay up all night gaming, Tong Sui felt sleepy at the appointed time and soon drifted off to sleep.
Chi Xingyu, however, remained wide awake.
He didn’t check his phone; instead, he just watched the person in front of him, a smile unconsciously creeping onto his habitually straight mouth.
The tent fell silent, but the online comments were anything but calm.
Someone mentioned that a recording from earlier had been uploaded to Weibo.
——What kind of radio drama scene is this?
——I want to interview the person involved, is Chi Shen’s abs nice to touch?
——This sweetness has my mouth corners rising madly.
——Honey, you’re too easy to coax! If I remember correctly, there are clearly two quilts, and Chi Gou is just a fraud.
——Sharing a bed and pillow afterwards rounds it to doing it! Hehe.
…
The next morning.
Tong Sui heard noises coming from outside the tent, drowsily moved, and seemingly bumped into something. Fighting against his sleepiness, he opened his eyes.
What greeted him was the sight of Chi Xingyu, startling him for a moment.
It had been a while since Tong Sui had slept with someone else; suddenly being too close made him feel uncomfortable.
He remembered things not being like this before he fell asleep; somehow, he ended up in Chi Xingyu’s embrace.
To be honest, Chi Xingyu’s body temperature was quite high, and he hadn’t felt cold at all last night; rather, he had slept very well.
Of course, he still felt a bit uneasy about the closeness.
Just as Tong Sui was about to remove Chi Xingyu’s hand from his waist, the person sleeping soundly suddenly moved, instinctively pulling him closer to his chest.
“…”
He knew how he ended up in his arms.
Chi Xingyu was clearly not used to waking up this early; he probably couldn’t distinguish between dream and reality, his well-defined nose brushing against him.
As the warmth from his breath landed on Tong Sui’s neck, it sent a shiver down his spine.
He shrank his neck, exclaiming, “Chi Xingyu, move over a bit.”
Chi Xingyu was lost in his dreams, completely unaware of Tong Sui’s faint voice. Instead, following the enticing fragrance, he opened his mouth to do something he had long desired yet dared not to do.
He gently kissed the alabaster skin on Tong Sui’s neck.
Tong Sui felt a weak electric shiver spreading throughout his body, and instinctively pushed Chi Xingyu away with force.
Chi Xingyu collided with the supporting pole of the tent, waking up in a daze, slightly irritable, “What are you doing?”
Waking someone like this wasn’t the right way.
Tong Sui glared at him, “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?”
Chi Xingyu rubbed the back of his head where he had hit, and when he looked up, he noticed Tong Sui’s eyes were red, misty, and the other hand covering his neck.
He instantly froze, all traces of irritation vanished, “What’s wrong with you? Did something happen?”
“I don’t know.”
Tong Sui left those words hanging and dashed out of the tent.
Chi Xingyu sat there, puzzled about how he had upset Tong Sui, until fragmented memories started surfacing in his chaotic mind.
He realized he had dreamed about embracing Tong Sui, a gentle fragrance enticing him to get closer.
He had only wanted to see what it tasted like.
He hadn’t expected to just nibble on it when he was abruptly jolted awake.
Chi Xingyu frowned.
He recalled Tong Sui’s misty eyes and the way he covered his neck.
No way…
After leaving the tent, Tong Sui felt that his reaction was a bit too much, but he couldn’t bring himself to turn back and apologize, so he went off to wash up first.
After washing up in their homestay room yesterday, when he sat down to eat, Sang Cai casually asked, “Why is it just you? Where’s Chi Xingyu?”
Tong Sui replied, “I didn’t leave with him.”
“That’s strange. I thought he always liked to stick by your side wherever he went.”
While Sang Cai was speaking, the person next to him, Qin Xiuxian, handed him a glass of milk.
Their relationship seemed to have gotten closer than before, and if this continued, it would likely progress smoothly, just like the original plot suggested.
Tong Sui felt much better, taking a bite of the nearest toast.
Just then, footsteps suddenly came from outside.
When Chi Xingyu walked in, he went straight to Tong Sui and pulled out a chair beside him to sit down.
